CAT is an Authorised Treatment Centre. Only in these centres can one obtain a Certificate of Destruction.
WHAT'S A C.A.T.?
CAT es un Centro Autorizado de Tratamiento. Sólo un CAT puede asegurarle que los componentes de su antiguo vehículo van a ser adecuadamente tratados, eliminando sus elementos contaminantes.
Sólo en estos centros se puede obtener el Certificado de destrucción, imprescindible si desea dar de baja su coche.
The European Union has declared ELV (End of life cars) as dangerous waste products. At the present time, the effective norm forces up to an 85% of recovery in relation to the gross weight of the ELV. This precondition leads to the need to decontaminate the vehicles and in addition, to carry out the tasks of the separation of the elements and materials that contain the vehicles thus obtaining the objective of recycling.
Por otro lado no se está garantizando la adecuada gestión de los residuos, tanto peligrosos como no peligrosos.
En el 2002 se registraron 800.000 bajas de vehículos en toda España. Recientemente se publicaron diversas normas con fin de garantizar la gestión adecuada de los VFUs.
